Welcome! I’m Beth Campbell-Maddaluno, aka The Soulful Writer. I first started this blog several years ago when I was in the midst of caring for my husband, Marcel, who was impacted by dementia. Sadly, my caregiving duties came to an end on May 20, 2018, with the passing of my dear husband. And as difficult as my role as a caregiver was,  it doesn’t compare to the difficulty of adjusting to my new life without my once in a lifetime love.

The focus of this blog and website is to offer words of encouragement and inspiration to all those who are traveling along one of life’s difficult paths. If you are a caregiver to a loved one and need to vent or reach out to someone who has been there, please contact me. If you have suffered the loss of a loved one, and need to feel you’re not alone on your grief journey, please contact me.

Regardless of where we are on life’s journey, we ALL long for that human connection – to be heard, to be listened to and to be loved!

Let’s take this journey together and be there for each other during the dark days as well as when the light begins to break through that darkness.

Your writing is beautiful and inspiring. I love the pictures as well. As you know I am going through a trying time with my husband of 57 years. Keeping his spirits up is one of my biggest challenges. He knows he will not get better with his COPD. He can make his life better but he is stuck in the I’m dying mode. Life gives us challenges and God is there to help if we let him. You are my inspiration and together we will come through this stronger. Much Love. Linda
